Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Remi (“Remi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a disposable-camera style event photo app that allows a host to create an event, invite guests by link or QR code, limit the number of photos guests can take, and collect those photos into a shared event gallery.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, transfer, and protect personal information when you use Remi, including our website, web app, mobile apps, event galleries, and related services.

This Privacy Policy applies to users in Canada, the United States, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other locations where Remi is available.

By using Remi, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of information described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use Remi.

1. Who We Are

Remi is the provider of the Remi service.

For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact us at:

Remi
Email: support@remi.camera
Website: remi.camera

For users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, Remi is the “controller” of personal information that we collect and use to provide the service, unless otherwise stated.

For event galleries, hosts control certain event settings, including who may join, who may view photos, when photos are revealed, and whether galleries are restricted or accessible by link. Hosts are responsible for choosing appropriate privacy settings and obtaining any required permissions from participants.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide to us, information created when you use Remi, and limited technical information collected automatically.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, login credentials, authentication details, and account settings.

Passwords are processed through our authentication provider and are not stored by us in plain text.

If you sign in using Google or another third-party login provider, we may receive basic account information from that provider, such as your name, email address, and profile information, depending on your settings with that provider.

Guest and participant information

When you join an event as a guest, we may collect the name, email address, or other information you provide. This information may be used to identify you within an event, attribute photos to you, allow the host to manage access, and allow you to later access or claim your photos.

Event information

When a host creates an event, we collect event-related information such as the event name, event date, cover image, event settings, gallery visibility settings, invite list, participant list, QR code or invite link, and related configuration details.

Photos and event content

Remi stores photos and other content uploaded, captured, submitted, or generated through the service.

Photos may contain personal information, including faces, images of people, event details, location context, time and date information, clothing, surroundings, and other information visible in or associated with the photo.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to capture, upload, submit, or share photos through Remi, especially where photos include other people, minors, private property, or sensitive situations.

Device, technical, and usage information

We may collect technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Remi, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, server logs, authentication logs, timestamps, pages or features used, event participation activity, and general service usage.

Communications

If you contact us for support, privacy requests, feedback, or other inquiries, we may collect your name, email address, message content, and any other information you choose to provide.

Payment information

If Remi offers paid products or services, payments may be processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card details unless expressly stated. Payment processors may collect billing information, payment method details, transaction information, and related data according to their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain Remi;
  • create and manage user accounts;
  • allow hosts to create events and galleries;
  • allow guests to join events, take photos, and view galleries based on event settings;
  • authenticate users and protect accounts;
  • attribute photos to guests or participants;
  • send transactional emails, such as account verification, password reset, event access, service notices, and security notifications;
  • provide customer support;
  • troubleshoot bugs and technical issues;
  • monitor service performance and reliability;
  • prevent fraud, spam, abuse, unauthorized access, and misuse;
  • protect the rights, safety, and security of Remi, users, and others;
  • enforce our terms, policies, and legal rights;
  • comply with legal obligations, court orders, regulatory requests, or lawful requests from authorities;
  • develop, maintain, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your photos to train artificial intelligence models.

We do not use your photos for third-party advertising.

4. Legal Bases for Processing for European and UK Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we process personal information based on one or more of the following legal bases:

Contract

We process information where necessary to provide Remi to you, including creating accounts, allowing hosts to create events, allowing guests to join events, storing photos, and displaying galleries according to event settings.

Consent

We may rely on consent where required, such as for optional permissions, optional communications, or certain device permissions. You may withdraw consent where applicable, but this will not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Legitimate interests

We may process information for our legitimate interests, including securing the service, preventing abuse, troubleshooting issues, improving Remi, communicating with users, and protecting our business, users, and the public, provided those interests are not overridden by your privacy rights.

Legal obligation

We may process information where necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, tax obligations, accounting obligations, regulatory requests, or law enforcement requests.

5. Who Can See Photos and Event Content

Photo and gallery visibility depends on the host’s event settings.

A host may choose settings that allow guests to see only their own photos, see all event photos, or access the gallery only after a certain time, such as after the event ends. A host may also choose whether a gallery is accessible by anyone with the link, limited to event participants, or restricted to specific invited email addresses.

Because hosts control event settings, guests should only join events and upload photos if they are comfortable with the host’s selected visibility rules.

Hosts are responsible for:

  • choosing suitable event privacy settings;
  • inviting only appropriate participants;
  • sharing event links only with intended recipients;
  • communicating gallery visibility rules to guests where appropriate;
  • obtaining any required permission or consent before collecting, uploading, or sharing photos of others;
  • handling reasonable requests from guests who want photos removed from an event.

If a gallery is shared by link, anyone who receives that link may be able to access the gallery depending on the host’s settings. Remi is not responsible for how hosts, guests, or other recipients share, download, screenshot, repost, or otherwise use photos outside of Remi.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following limited circumstances.

With hosts and event participants

We share event-related information and photos with hosts and participants according to the event’s settings. For example, a host may see guest names, email addresses, submitted photos, event activity, and gallery content.

With service providers

We use third-party service providers to operate Remi. These providers process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services to us.

Our providers may include:

  • Supabase, for database, authentication, and photo storage;
  • Vercel, for web app hosting and deployment;
  • Google, for optional sign-in authentication;
  • Resend, for transactional email delivery;
  • Expo / EAS, for mobile app builds, app delivery, and over-the-air updates;
  • payment processors, if Remi offers paid products or services.

We may add, replace, or remove service providers as Remi evolves. When we do, we will take reasonable steps to require appropriate privacy and security protections.

For legal, safety, and security reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, court order, or government request;
  • enforce our terms, policies, or legal rights;
  • investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical issues;
  • protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Remi, users, or others;
  • prevent harm, unauthorized access, or misuse of the service.

Business transfers

If Remi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If this happens, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your information remains protected.

With your direction or consent

We may share information where you direct us to do so or where you give us consent.

7. International Processing and Transfers

Remi is operated from Canada, but our service providers may process and store information in Canada, the United States, Australia, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

These countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information, such as contractual protections, data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

By using Remi, you understand that your information may be processed and stored outside your province, state, or country of residence.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Remi, maintain accounts and events, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, maintain security, and operate our business.

Events and photos are generally retained while the event and related account are active.

When a host deletes an event that contains photos, the event may be moved to a “Recently Deleted” state and scheduled for permanent deletion after approximately 30 days.

Deletion from active systems may not always be immediate. Copies may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, caches, or third-party systems before being overwritten or deleted in the ordinary course of business.

You may request deletion of your account or personal information by contacting us at support@remi.camera. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may retain limited information where required or permitted by law, including for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate business recordkeeping.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, object to, transfer, or withdraw consent for certain processing of your personal information.

You can contact us at support@remi.camera to make a privacy request.

You may also:

  • update certain account information in your account settings, where available;
  • control camera and photo library permissions through your device settings;
  • ask a host to remove your photo or remove you from an event;
  • leave an event, where the feature is available;
  • unsubscribe from non-essential communications, if any are sent.

Remi works without saving photos to your personal device photo library, unless you choose to download or save them.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
